Alright, I'm gonna take a stab at a CYOA story, wish me luck!

"Yes, way to go, Skorupi!" cried Drake.
"Aw, no fair, I was so close to winning, too!" moaned Dawn.
"Piplup, return!"
Piplup vanished instantly from the battleground in an array of colored light.
"Okay, Dawn, you remember your promise! You said you would buy me tickets to the Pok?mon contest if I won!"
"Yeah, I did say that. I didn't think you could win with that Skorupi, I mean, you just caught it yesterday! Well, I guess we'd better get to the Contest Hall; it's only a few blocks away, we can walk."

Drake and Dawn walked down to the Contest Hall together; Dawn counted the change in her purse along the way.

"355... 380... 400! Okay, Drake, here's enough to buy a ticket."
Drake couldn't concentrate on money, he had other things on his mind. He subconsciously put the change in his pocket. The small coins jingled with every step he took. The sound of metal-on-metal kept bringing his thoughts back on the Steelix he was hoping to see at the contest. Promos and ads had been placed all around town the previous weekend, tattooing the date of the Steelix's performance in his mind.

"The amazing Steelix! Tougher than any Pok?mon you'll ever see! You won't believe your eyes! Coming to Hearthome's Master Rank Tough contest, July 25"

Lost in his daydreams of Steelix, Drake's brain had barely registered the fact that the contest hall was now looming very close upon them.
"Hey, look, we're here!" Dawn shouted to Drake. He flinched. The daydreams of Steelix floating in his head disappeared, being replaced by reality.
"Drake, we're here!" she repeated, somewhat annoyed.
"Awesome! I can't wait to see that Steelix. I'm going to buy a ticket to the Master rank Tough contest, Dawn, come on!"

Drake dragged Dawn by her hand towards the Contest Hall. Before they reached the building, however, a tall, blonde figure stopped them.

It was Calvin, the immature, lazy village idiot of Hearthome City.

"Gonna go see a Pok?mon contest with your girlfriend?" he shrieked tauntingly.
"What the heck are you talking about, Calvin?"
"Just ignore him, Drake," Dawn muttered.

"Yeah, you heard me, you're off to go spend some quality time with your girlfriend, aren't you, Drakey-poo?"

What do you respond? (What you choose depends on the outcome of the rest of the story)

[A] "How can she be my girlfriend, she's my big sister!"
[B] "Yeah, she is my girlfriend, you're just to immature to understand such a concept."
[C] Words are for sissies, challenge him to a Pok?mon battle!

NO! All CYOAs must have an option that will satisfy basement dwellers!

[D] Kick Calvin's ass and steal his money, then knock Dawn out and do unspeakable things to her.

(in other words, B )

Erm, maybe after the story progresses a little. Y'know, it is possible for something to be epic without... references... all throughout the story; you just have to write it in a different way. wink.gif

But first, I need to get some more votes in. smile.gif

B, but if you want it too be interesting, you should do what bobblyhead said. Have you ever read Bomberman's CYOA from GameFAQs. It was the best I have ever read. If you want it, tell me and I'll email it to you. Obviousely I will need your email.

Also, just so you know, this topic might be shut down for attracting post whores or something. Maybe Zero would do it?

I vote B.
It would be wiser to make this in the trashcan, to prevent post whoring.

B wins.

"You idiot, of course she's my girlfriend, why else would I be holding her hand!?"
Calvin smirked. "How did a pretty girl like you end up with Drake?" He advanced towards her smugly.
"Oh! I-I, Uh" she stammered, backing away from Calvin. Drake pushed himself in front of Dawn, shielding her from his disfigured face.
"Move out of the way, you bone-head," he whispered, "I wanna kiss your girlfriend."

This is definitely not good for Dawn. What do you do?

[A] Skorupi, Poison Sting!
[B] Drake, Sucker Punch!
[C] Dawn, Attract!
[D] Flee the battle

Also, would a mod be so kind as to move this to the Trashcan if you see fit?

Definitely B. Also, I don't really see a reason to move this to the trashcan, as it is quality writing. If it degenerates into a perv-fest (which I know will happen soon enough...) then I'll move it.

B wins again.

Calvin was now inches away from Drake's face. He had a smug and menacing look on his face.
"I'm gonna tell you one more time," he whispered with a hint of anger, "Get outta the way!"
Drake feinted shuffling right. The second Calvin let his guard down, Drake flung his fist straight into the middle of Calvin's ugly face.
"AAARGH!" he spluttered. Blood dripped steadily onto the concrete.
Dawn, taking the oppurtunity to get her revenge, begin hitting Calvin with her purse. Drake had to feel sorry for Calvin at this point; Dawn carried her textbooks from school in her purse. As each dull thud made contact with his exposed back, she angrily screamed a simple lecture at him.
"Don't --- you --- ever --- touch --- me --- or --- my --- boyfriend --- again!"
She gave one last heroic swing, and walked away smartly.
"Come on, let's get to that contest now." she said sweetly to Drake.
Dawn and Drake purchased tickets and sat in their seats. Immediately, they could tell something was wrong on the stage. Three men dressed in full black were interviewing one of the contestants intensely.
The MC turned on his mic.
"I'm sorry folks, but the Contest Hall is temporarily shutting down. We thank you for your cooperation."
This announcement only furthered Drake's suspicion.

There is something wrong here...

[A] Stay at the Contest Hall and ask what's going on
[B] Eavesdrop on the contestant and three men in black
[C] Perhaps this is the scene of a murder... explore the building?
