We're here to teach them stuff like that; remember that this board is for everyone, and if people don't know some things, then that's no problem whatsoever.
Honestly I wound't mind teaching newbs who come here. If they are willing to learn and arent idiots whats the problem. I mean we will have very few members if we take nothing but people who already know a lot about pokemon. Also ThePoke chill with reserving all those analysis and fix the one you have up.
Hah! It seems the most hard-line anti-smogoners are the first to be selective. I don't understand any of it, myself, and if you didn't want Smogonites, you've already failed, because you have me and Sir Spanky. Sorry. Happily, Fantasty isn't given to such bias.
Obviously, we want to get our name out, otherwise we'll be nothing more than a little board of GFaqers and Smogonites. We're not a secret society, our goal is to offer...well, everything you could get from Marriland or Smogon or wherever, and hopefully the quality of our work will lean towards the latter's. And Smogon has no trouble with inventiveness....you have to be reasonable, and you need to make a good argument, with calcs to prove its possible effectiveness. Futuresuperstar, creator of Growthtran, was universally lauded(well, not for the name. They don't tend to like names like that), not only because his idea was great, but because he presented in a clear, sensible fashion, and expounded its merits with real examples, his own testing, and calcs. You need to do more for your ideas than just say "x, y, and z" and expect them to do the work for you. And if you suggest....say....physical Cherrim, you deserved to get shot-down.
Okay, now that's out of the way, I'll stop typing...

I already knew smogonites would get on this board and for the most part sir spanky and you are the only smogonites I have seen that are kind, to people and accept originality, if there are more people on Smogon like you guys id make a topic right now about this place there.
But, another reason why I wrote the smogon part is because if enough Smogon people found out abut this site, hostility wouuld break out between the two. Lets face the truth this site has other features but basically this site is doing the exact same thing smogon is doing by making quality movesets. Because a rivalry or hatred for the other site will exist.

Seriously though, let's not overgeneralize things, okay? There are a lot of smogonites that are just as open to creativity as most people here, IMO.

I don't think this really makes for a valid argument to bash smogon. Also, let's just cut all the smogon-hate/love right now. IMO, it only makes us look less professional and might give a jealous impression. It's complete nonsense to rant on about things you may think smogon does incorrectly; if you're unsatisfied with how they do their things, just don't go there. Sure, you can mention some stuff that you'd like to see here that smogon does not have or does incorrectly IYO, but please, stay away from downright flames and insults. They do things their way, we do things our way.

This is not true at all. Smogon is actually quite supportive of creativity, but it has to work, or be better than what they already have. Why would you want to use a moveset, when it's inferior to what's already been dub'd the standard? An inferior moveset is not going to help you, even if it is creative. I personally suggested Ice Punch on Gallade on Smogon, since it hits the most types SE, but my idea was PROVED to be "inferior" because Night Slash allows you to hit ghost types (Dusknoir) for SE and possibly 2HKO, since it's a common switch-in to Gallade. I won't keep going on about this, but it shouldn't be hard to understand.
Now, getting back on-topic, I voted for number 1. This site needs more members. I've been inviting good battlers I've met on Shoddy here (like Siege) to try and expand our community.
There's also a big difference between an overall weaker moveset with a specific niche and a moveset that is straight up inferior. The former has a place on Libelldra but no place on Smogon, while the latter does not belong on either site. One of the key strengths of our members is the ability to recognize the difference.
Also, I just want to put out there that skarm was a huge asshole to me in the past, and that Smogonite battling etiquette is poor in general. Therefore, I feel justified in my Smogon hate. Last weekend, I went Smogonite-hunting on Shoddy to gauge both their skills and personalities, and I must say that I was far from impressed on both accounts. I won't make a general statement about everyone, but several of their more prominent names have a habit of complaining whenver anything of theirs misses, laughing whenever your moves miss, and cussing you out whenever they get outpredicted and when they lose.

Yah, they are annoying. Someone told me no legends after we had started the battle. I had already sent out a Gigas and hes lead was amazingly a HEATRAN.

First off lol at the no legends Heatran thing.
Second thing, That why my Yanmega has a wide lens to increase the accuracty of air slash to 105% and hypnosis to 85%.
Third thing this might be my most succefull topic ever.
Just to people who've proved that they know something about Pokemon, not people who abide by Legend Clause. That being, we should all change out Sigs on GF as to avoid idiots coming here to make Legend Clause standard.
