We don't; this site is for everyone, no matter how intelligent someone is. There is no reason to not advertise on GameFAQs; we have mods for a reason. If things get too out of control, we'll simply draw the banhammer and put an end to it.
And there is definitely no reason to keep this site secret to any other people; we want this community to grow, secretivity won't help achieving that goal.

How come with all the links I post to Shoddy, none of them came out as modded?
Bah, I think we need to drop a little more hints. Maybe a bit more direct, don't go make a topic about "Go to the Libelldra Forge", but more like in MS request topics link to the Libelldra Forge. That should be fine, right?

As far as I know, that is perfectly fine according to GameFAQs' policies. I've been doing it ever since this board was created and I haven't lost any karma because of it (yet).
actually, something that I find really interesting is how if you make a topic that is REALLY a blatant advertisement but use a certain format (basically what you just said, put together a skit where one person asks for an MS and the other gives via link to Libelldra), no matter HOW obvious it is, even if people say it in the topic, GFaqs is not allowed to take away karma for it... they delete the topic after a while but thats about it...
