I have to say after reading the 7th book, Snape ended up being my favourite character by far.

LOL

J.K Rowling was saying how she didn't mean to make Snape look as good as she did..and that she still dislikes him. He wasn't ever supposed to be good. He was brave, yes, but he was selfish.

Same here. I really think she could've made the ending a bit better; or at least make the epilogue a bit more interesting. Tell something about what they'd become instead of only telling us the names of their children.
I also think Ron and Hermione ending up being married is a bit strange...

At the start of the series, I swear everyone though Harry and Hermione would get married.

Ironic or not. There's a Harry Potter ad at the top of the page.

But ya, the ending wasn't fufiling enough for me. Harry=/= Soccer Mom.

But that whole thing with Snape's past was wow. I NEVER saw that coming.Thoug really, Lupin, Tonks and a lot of characters got less than a chapert the while time under their belt.

God, I have had rants after rants about how much I hated how Snape died. My favorite character killed off by a snakebit?! Still not happy about it. Anyways, as mentioned Harry should have died as it would have fit the story better (and would have made my prediction correct) and the epilogue could have been longer and better then it was, but overall I thought it was a fitting end to Harry Potter.

The book was a great ending to a great series.
Yeah, the epilogue was a bit short but overall I loved it.

I always thought Snape was a good person because Dumbledore always said: "I trust Severus".
One touching part in the book for me was this:
Dumbledore: Have you grown to care for the boy after all?
Snape: For him? *shoots patronus*
Dumbledore: After all this time?
Snape: Always.

That was touching. But that part where Mrs. Weasley screamed before she dueled Bellatrix(sp?) was made that book epic.

Yea, I had to read it for summer reading. Finished it in five days.

It was actually much better than I had expected. The sixth one was terrible, and I was expecting much worse, but this book was actually pretty good. The ending was great.

I agree entirely. All the things that happened that weren't mentioned really made him a much more likable character.

I forgot I can edit posts. How can I delete the one below this one?

I finished it the night it came out. Nearly all of my predictions came true, I guess that's what you get after spending hours on Harry Potter boards reading theories and the like. tongue.gif

Finished it in a few hours. I'm a fast, nutty reader, sue me. <.<

Have to admit, Snape actually turned out better of a character than I'd expected. Epilogue...eh, wasn't anything too special, really.

People Who Should Have Died
Harry Potter

It seems like she was just was being lazy this book and decided to kill everybody off. Even the ****ing BIRD. Harry should have ****ing DIED. It would have made a much more emotional ending Instead of ****ing "All is well".

She killed off Hedwig because it would have been a real pain carrying him around during the camping part of the book. And why should Harry have died again?

Lol. Real good end to a child's book. "And our protagonist died, Voldemort killed everything, the end." ITS A *******CHILD'S BOOK! THEIR NOT GONNA KILL THE MAIN CHARACTER! THAT WOULD BE A SUCKY END TO THE ******* BOOK! Besides... harry kind of died.. laugh.gif

..is it not ironic that the ad at the bottom of the page is about harry potter?

I thinks ads are lossely based in the context of "hot words" if you will. As in it sees Harry Potter, so it made an ad for it.

Also, I wished Harry died, because he was a friggen moron, but at least he did something worthwhile with his life *coughcoughGINNYcoughcough*

Actually, you are wrong on all accounts. The books were never written for children, Jo herself has said this. Also there were hundreds of plausible theories that involved Harry dying but the good guys still winning.

Oh, and Harry never died.

I was pretty dissapointed. It was well written as usual, but I had one HUGE problem.

TONS of people and creatures were killed (some of which were much better/more accomplished at magic than Harry and company) and yet somehow, despite being chased by (and having a few confrontations with) Voldemort himself, Harry and company didn't die.

I thought it was rediculous that some of the most powerful wizards in all of the world were killed by random death eaters and creatures, yet Harry and friends survived not only a few DIRECT confrontations with Voldemort himself, but traveled directly into hotspots (Grigots (sp?) bank, where they were actually caught as well) and yet alsways survived.

7/10 for me.

I'm sorry, but surviving everything just got a little boring and lame for me.
