WARNING - LOADS OF SPOILERS
I dislike how most of the deaths were meaningless... the only one with any impact was Dobby. Lupin and Tonks were very briefly mentioned, as well as Fred (or George, I forget which one).
Actually, thinking about it, Snape's was the best, IMO. Although the initial death was short, it was followed by a very moving chapter which explained his character and his motives... really brought a new dimension and added depth to the character.
I liked how the book made Dumbledore appear... human. Before, he has always been shown as the most powerful wizard ever, can do no wrong, etc. However, we find out more about his past in this book, and doubts are cast over him.
I found the Ron and Hermione relationship odd. In previous books, it seemed as if their relationship was getting worse and worse, with constant arguments. I'm sure that in a few books, they go for the entire length of the story without talking to one another. I admit that, from very early on in the series, I was sure that they would get together. It just seemed odd, IMO, how they spent the last few books hating each other, then Ron suddenly started trying to chat her up...
