Do you guys think that the Wii is a bit over rated? Is it worth all the credit it's getting. What do you think of the Wii? Is it all the great still from when you first bought it? Share thoughts herewith the Wii or any other consoles you might want to here.

Yes, definitely over-rated. I think it'll start losing popularity soon. Seems to be more like a fad to me more than anything.

I wouldn't say it's over-rated, infact, I would say that it's under-rated by gamers. People only think it's a fad because for once, a company is actually trying to bring out something different into the industry, and it's already had various imitators (such as Sony at the last second introducing primitive motion sensing into their controllers, the various imitators that are being introduced for PC, PS3 and 360 that work with about 6 games, etc).

I'd say all consoles are over-rated, but the Wii has a lot of capabilities that arent getting used since mini-game-games are being made and a lot of people I know have bought a Wii primarily just for Wii sports.

In all honesty, Wii is a bit over-rated to me. The controls aren't as easy, the games aren't as good and also there aren't as much popularity as other consoles. The Wii is great, but totally over-rated, at least at the point when it was just released. Nuff said, Wii to me is over-rated and doesn't really amuse me.

*sigh* i've said this millions of times now, now for the 1 millinth and one time:

the wii was first intented to be aimed at party gamers or familys, it was NOT originally for hardcore single player gamers, the wii is getting just as much attetion as the other 2 next gen consoles, but the wii gets advertised more often because its not as expensive as the PS3 while having a wider selection of games then the Xbox360.

with the release of SSBB its popularity has skyrocketed, especially to those who loved he previous two.

in my opinion thw wii isnt overrated, it's just more widley known

Actually, just to remind you guys, there are definatly more hard-core games that what you like to think there are. Take Zelda: TP, Metroid Prime 3, SMG (although the first half is more for casuals, the second half is more for the hard-core), No More Heroes, Super Smash Bros Brawl, etc...

i totally agree with you ^-^ i used to say: i wan a Wii, why would i need another console? but now if i could have them i'd choose both he Wii and 360. Just for games like Gears of War and Halo 3 >_< also, the 360's controller is perfect and i love playing racing games on it ;D

Wii is far overrated. It's meant for different people, hence the reason it doesn't appeal to the majority of true hardcore gamers. The vast majority of it's games suit small kids or older people that prefer a lighter form of gaming.

Wii really is a good console. But on every good game there are at least 10 half products. Because of advertising it as a family console developers don't really bother to make good ports for it or even make good third party games. That's why almost all good games for Wii are from Nintendo.

At this current moment in time, the Wii is overrated. They have brought out pointless games for it. Some of which i didn't see the point in, but because Nintendo is trying to expand their gaming age band, the games are getting boring for the origional gamers.

I got one when it first came out and i can say i have not got my moneys worth out of it. There arn't enough games for it yet.

However, saying all of this, once the good games come out for it, everyone will like it again. things like Super Smash Bros Brawl ((I live in the UK)), And other games that actually make use of the consoles techonology then it will be amazing.
