Anyone else think BoF I and II are a pain in the butt?

I cleared the first game, and got through the first chunk of the second before it drove me nuts. There is a complete lack of direction! I'm constantly looking at walkthroughs because the game simply doesn't tell you where to go.

Tip: Keep SNES9x and zSNES or another favorite SNES emulator. Don't just use one, because I had BoF II bug on me with SNES9x, whereas it worked on zSNES. Just a good rule to follow if the ROM doesn't work on one emulator.

/rant over. *cough*

I hate those games where you are left wondering on what to do, or require you to do obscure things which you would never think of doing. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the complete opposite, I believe :)

I don't mind if a game tells me what to do, every step of the way, as long as I have the option to do whatever I want.

Breath Of Fire is... well, yeah... it can be a pain. I might try to get through the second one, but I'm not sure yet.

Play it. BoF2 is leaps and bounds ahead of BoF1.  It's also a lot more interesting.  The Dragon system in BoF2 is fairly mediocre, but there's a lot of other things going for it.

can someone please explain what it is that makes new members ressurect old threads please....

PLEASE DO NOT DO IT!

if a thread is over 2 weeks old without any new replies, then most likely nobody gives a damn about it anymore, or the problem in question has been solved.
neir, this isnt aimed at just you, its aimed at everyone old and new (though its mostly the new guys who do it)
