To be honest, after Gold/Silver/Crystal, the series took a serious deep down-hill. GSC were, without a doubt, the best pokémon games, and amoungst my top 10 GB/GBC games.

They're not that bad. For a Gameboy/DS RPG they do excellent. Obviously can't compare them to console or real PC games.
