Whenever I load the second gb in tgb dual it starts my 2nd pokemon game back to the begining so I can no longer trade between games. What should I do to get this to work?

Try fidning out the save format, and rename the 1st screen save name to correspond with the second. I'll post an example soon.

I tried that but when ever I try to change the .sav file's extension to .sa2 by adding .sa2 to the end of the filename, all it does is add it to the file name without changing the file type. maybe I am doing it wrong.

I'll try and explain.

If the first window uses the format game.sav. Create a copy of that and rename it to game.sa2.

You might need enable viewing file extensions in windows explorer to get it working.
