But wait a second... whenever a movie is based off of a game it usually ends up sucking.
Mario Bros wasn't that great.
Street Fighter was pretty bad.
The Final Fantasy movie (done in CGI years ago, not Advent Children) was pretty crappy.
The Resident Evil movies were... decent I guess. Overall, game movies are terrible. (Mortal Kombat was cheesy, but I'd watch it again)

ON THE OTHER HAND, If I was a movie director, I'd make a decent videogame movie. For a start off, I'd naturally choose a videogame that could easily be adapted (like Max Payne or Max Payne 2), and stay clear of games like Zelda, which wouldn't work very well in cinema.
