Back when I had my old emulator and ROM of FireRed I had a problem with not being able to continue the game after I have beaten the Elite 4.  Whenever the game started up it would say sub-1M circuit board not installed or something to that effect. However I never had any problems with it until I beat the Elite 4. Instead of continuing the game after beating the Elite 4, it disregarded my progress and started a new game in the starting town. I read other topics saying stuff about saving in 128k form and what not but I was wondering if the sub-1M circuit board error had anything to do with not being able to continue the game after the E4 as well. I am thinking about getting the emulator and ROM again and wanted to make sure that situation doesn't happen this time around. Thanks in advance for any solution to my problem.

P.S.: If I find the solution to this problem on the boards I will delete this topic.

Change the save type of your emulator to Automatic and Flash 128k. Alternatively you could also get the later fixed version of the rom.
