Which does the internet do more for people? good or bad? post why you've selected your choice.

I've chosen to say that it does more bad than good simply because mor harm can be done then good. I think there are alot more sites that are suited for adults than children and those same children view this material and there they go! down the road of no return, they get more and more into it.

The internet does neither bad nor good.

The internet is an amazing resource when you need certain information. Whether you need to know how to fix your PC, remove an ingrown toenail, bake a cake or construct a shotgun from basic parts in your garage... the internet provides the information.

If you use a search engine, such as Google, it will not throw "bad" things at you. It will not throw "good" things at you. Type in what you want and you'll find it. If you want "bad" things then you're going to find "bad" things. We are our own worst enemy in that regard.

Like I said, the internet is a resource. It is a tool to be used. The old saying still stands true: "Guns don't kill people, people kill people," and the same phrase can be applied to the internet.

I wouldn't be half as knowledgeable as I am now, or have passed most of my exams if it weren't for the web. For me it's definitely done more good than bad. And even if I too accidentally stumbled on several adult sites while I was underage, it's all good education in my opinion.

I do see a few sensible answers in comparison to mine and they also do make alot of sense. At the moment I didn't think of it that way.

It can do either.

You give someone a gun, They could shoot someone and kill them or they could scare away someone that had intent on killing them.

It depends on how it is used, It can be extremely helpful or it can be extremely harmful. As with most things its how the user decides to use it.

The internet is incredibly hard to debate wether its good or bad.

information
games
faq's
walkthroughs
more interactions with friends far away
youtube/video sites
mp3 downloads
more anime distributions for people
more up to date news

Viruses

Connection Failures
Phishing
abusive emailing
over reactions on chats

Its just a mix of the both, but more towards the user than the actual internet

It's done more good than harm towards me. Sure I've stumbled onto an adult site in my time (who hasn't?), and it just taught me a lesson.

I'm glad the internet was made, couldn't live without it.

The internet has actually helped out the advancement in technology in many ways. Yes I believe there are some cons to the internet and people have tried to exploit others on the internet but if you look at this issue in the long-run, it has actually helped more than hurt the public.
