Every emulator is tested on a high end computer, either that or it is tested on the developer's computer. Their specification for a computer may vary.
Depending on your system specs, will determine how fast your emulation goes. So if you got good specs, your speed should be fairly ok with the emulator.
To put it better, if you got a crap system...it runs like crap

If you got a bad@ss system, it runs bad@ss
