no$gba does not need you to patch yhe rom try using clean roms..
[/quote]

If we have to switch over to a clean rom, then can we not save? and even if we can doesnt that mean were going to loose the saved data from the patched rom?

From discussion over at other forums, some people are saying that you can use your old save game...

I wonder how that works

Uhh..

Just delete the patch ROM, then download the clean copy. It should automatically detect the old save from the /battery folder as long as both ROM/Save have the same name...

EDIT: I might make a reverse-IPS patch later today (From patched --> clean)
EDIT2: IPS Patch posted here (Someone try it out and please), Guide was also updated.. (Revision 10)

If you're using No$GBA 2.4a or lower, you need to patch the ROM.

If you're using No$GBA 2.4b and higher, you need to use a clean (unpatched) ROM.

The save patch doesnt seem to work for me either, I only get a new save working the first time I enter the pokemon center of a new town for the first time.

I'm currently in Jubilee city and have just delivered the parcel, started out with Turtwig.

Also, I cant seem to use ANY AR/GS/Codebreaker codes for some reason, they just wont work with No$gba2.4b :( :( :(

Could someone please tell me how to use codes, and if someone could please make me codes for

Max Cash

Piplup
Chimchar
and Torchic (preferably lvl 7s for each)

I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Ok, So I already get you need to use a CLEAN rom for 2.4b (thankgod for backups).

However, my saving is still messed up.

Like I said, it ONLY creates a NEW save whenever I enter a city for the first time. Otherwise, saving is for NOTHING everytime I try.

And, as I said, no AR/GS/Codebreaker code I try works, no matter WHAT I do.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: Please don't double post.

Max Cash can be obtained via the savegame editor or by using a memory hacking utility (I have tested it in Cheat Engine)...

As for the save not being created, try resetting the ROM by hitting the * (Asterisk) on the numberpad after saving and see if that works.

And AR/GS/Codebreaker support hasn't been implemented for DS games in No$GBA yet.

I dont think I understand how to change the filetype to uncompressed, can you elaborate the process please?

Uhh.. I'm not sure how I can simplify it any further:

1) Open no$gba.ini in your No$GBA directory.
2) Find the line with "SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed"
3) Replace that with "SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed"
4) Save your changes.
5) Start up the emu and perform save your game again.

Thats the thing, I dont SEE an .ini file :(

Thats why this is so confusing to me. Is it supposed to come in the no$gba's initial zip file?

-------------------------------------------------

what...the...hell

Ok, so I finally got to the city with the first gym. After training for over an hour...somehow my save file reverted back to a save in Jubilee city O.O

WHAT THE HELL?! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? I saved at LEAST 20 times since entering the new city, SAW the saves took, and NOW I reverted somehow?

...this is ALL kinds of f*cked up!

EDIT: Don't Double Post. This is the last time before I tell you without officially warning you.

1) Try making a complete new folder with just the rom and the emulator, and see if it works
2) Try downloading the emulator again and look for that .ini file

I don't know what's up with your computer, but my saving works just fine...

No. It's in the No$gba directory and is created the first time you run the emulator.

Did you follow my advice of hitting the asterisk key on the numpad immediately after saving?

I'm not sure what you're doing wrong but saving is working fine for me (and for laglacer)..

Apparently its working ok now, but I'm still on edge of it somehow reverting to an earlier save later on.

Weirdest shit ever.

??? Ill try looking for that directory, but I dont see any trace of one on my C drive.

Maybe this is incredibly simple and missing something VERY simple, but I could run a search for the .ini file and cant find it.

The no$gba directory is the place on your hard-drive where you extracted the No$GBA files...

Alright, I found it. The problem is that I changed the save type to uncompressed and tried running that program, but apparently its totally messed up my budew (which was my in my first pokemon party slot).

Everytime I try to deposit it now, the deposit system shows white boxes and freezes the game.

...Fuck, this is BULLshit! Something wrong with every attempt >:(

Depositing has problems, and it has been acknowledged in my guide. If you've advanced to the point the fixes in my guide don't work anymore, you'll have to survive without depositing, at least until a new version of the emulator is released.
