Hi, I am interested in NDS emulation via flash card, I am going to order an R4 and a 2GB micro SD later today, I am greatly familiar with computers and quite familiar with general emulation (vis software emulator on the PC) although I have never used R4 type of emulation before, I assume the R4 comes standard with CD allowing transfer of files from the PC to the flash card, I was wondering if anyone here has used this (or similar device) before and had any problems or if anyone can recommend any alternative software that does the job better than the supplied software.

Now I may be making this more complicated than it is for all I know it may just be a simple process of moving the files to the flash card and running them since the DS slot-1 adapter may have the necessary software built-in making there no need to put anything extra on the flash card.

Any other useful info anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i don't have a ds (or a R4) i'm going to buy both, and i've already investigated (it's really easy) i've found the R4 is pretty similar to the "M3 simply" both are the best you can find in market today, the R4 is slightly better since you can choose from different skins and you can actually remove the microSD memory without taking the whole thing out, that and a couple more details make it better than the "M3 simply".

You must know that every slot-1 flashcart ONLY allow you to play DS roms, no GBA roms, however you can play nes and snes games with homebrew and DS roms, images, videos, music and freeware (homebrew). The Videos need to be converted to a special format with a software you can find in the R4 homepage.

i found 2 great reviews about these two devices but they're both in spanish, so i have just resumed it to you, and i'll post this videos of the R4 working.

I hope this was useful for you ;)

Thanks for the great post, I found it really easy to put the games on and I haven't put my DS down since, I got a 2GB SD card and have a mixture of games, pictures and videos on there, I have decided though that I am going to buy one or two more cards and separate everything, micro SDs are so small that multiple can be carried around easily.

I am also happy that while on the move I an put my micro SD in the SD adapter and put it in my PDA to swap over some music.

If anyone is thinking of investing in one of these I must say it is well worth it, I ended up spending £35 for both the R4 and the micro SD, this is less than just 1 DS game so it is really a great saving, I already have 4 friends asking for me to get them one.
