Whenever i try to download and try to play either Ruby or Fire Red, when I open the rom, all I get is a white screen and am unable to do anything. Ive even tried these roms on different computers and different emulators, still the same thing.

some pokemon games require patches.
other, certain settings within the emulator.

Tell me the rom you need help with & i'll see about helping with the solution
