ok, there should be an IPS file on the zip file where you downloaded your rom, run it and now it should work

I suggest you just download a completely new rom (saves time). Or if you have a limited amount of downloads go to http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=gba&section=patch
Lots of patches and stuff like that there!

Go To

Options >> Emulator >> Save Type >> Flash 128k

Then it will work.
