i want to trade pokemon between my fire red and emerald roms, i entered the union room, and i can see the trainers of the respective roms there. but when i tried to trade, a notice will appear saying"you cant trade with that trainer now" can anyone help me?

Are you using the same emulator for this? (I just used some gameshark codes if I want a pokemon anyway!)

You have to get past the Elite 4 in Emerald first, or else it doesn't let you trade with the "past." You will get the national pokedex then. Also, you MIGHT have to beat the Elite 4 in FR, too, but I'm not sure about that one.

i didn't know this was a game problem, i thought it was a rom or emu problem, please someone try it and tell if works!

you have to complete the quest in the 7 islands of fr first and beat the elite 4 in emerald to trade.. 100% sure. its the story line
