Tileset 001: Grassland

The first and smallest Tileset with only 144 tiles. The Grassland tileset is used mainly for camp sites and plains.

Lets start with a blank map:

Next using the water autotile lets create a river on layer 1:
(The default water autotile can look a bit square so a custom circlar one was made if you want to use the circle one it's attached to this post.)

Now lets add a path:
(Remember to make every look wild and natural only use squares for man-made stuff, like houses.)

Next using layer 2 we will start to add the grasses and flowers, using these tiles:

Remember that this is not a city or town so make everything as wild as possible:

Now layer 3 is for adding trees and other stuff. Don't worry about overlapping tiles you have already put down:

Finally use the event layer to add people and other events such as the camp fire. Also the fog command can be used to give the map a more real life feeling:

And there you are you map is done. Don't forgot you don't have to use 20x15 for all your map make them as big and as wild as you like.

Tileset 002: Woods

The second Tileset has 208 tiles. The Wood tileset is used for woods and forests that have a 'light' feel to them.

Lets once again start with a blank map:

Next we add a stream, the paths and also using this tile we add different colour bits of grass.

This make the map more eye catching. Don't forgot the number one rule of nature., Wild and Random.

Now we move on to Layer 2. Once again add the plants and flowers. Woods are often more over grown then plains so add alot more flowers.

Stay on Layer 2 and start adding trees and other bits of eyecandy like rocks and tree stumps.

Move on to Layer 3 and start using the canopy tiles(see below) to join the trees together.

The canopy tile is used to make the map look like there is lots of trees there so it saves you time.

Now go back to Layer 2 and ajust your map so you can see the edges of trees coming out from the canopy tiles.

On the event layer add some small forest animals, don't forgot to set their autonomous movement to parallel process. And use the fogs 003-Shade01 or 004-Shade02 to give your forest that real forest feeling. Fogs can dramatically change a map if you use them right.

And there you are, your woods are finished.

Tileset 003: Forest

The next tile set with 152 tiles is quite small but works just like the woods tileset.

Here is a quick map I made with out using the canopy tiles.

Tileset 004: Mountain

Lets once again start with a blank map:

Next using the cliff part of the tileset add the cliffs. Remember to make it as random as possible.

Now add cliffs to the bottom of the map to give the player the feel of being high up.
Don't forgot to add eyecandy such as weeds and long grass.

Now look at the next screenshot and you will notice parts of the cliff are missing:

To fix this there are four tiles to the right of the cliff tiles that you can use.

Next we add a small waterfall and a pool. The waterfall autotiles are animated so it give a nice feel to the map.

Next on the third layer add the trees, a bridge and maybe even a cave for the player to explore.

Then finally add any fogs or weather effects.
