Just do the following:

Options/Emulator/Save Type/Flash 128k (enabled)

Options/Emulator/Real Time Clock (enabled)

You should be able to play the game normally now.

When running the game, make sure you save every once and a while, by using Shift+F1.

If you want to export a backup save when you have finished playing, do the following:
Save the game normally, Start, Save, Yes I would like to overwrite.

Then File/Export/Battery File  There should be a box at the bottom that says "save as type" (or something like that).  Choose Flash Save.  Then press Save.

If you later find that a save isn't loading correctly, you can Import your flash save file, or hit F1 and continue.

When vbalink 180 came out, I had my troubles too ;)  It just takes a little tweaking and testing, and you will eventually be comfortable with vba. :)

it works fine on the original vba emulator, the one with no link button in options menu, but it says use the vba emu that came with vba link, thats the one that does not load my game.

(make sure you have flash 128k enabled on both emulators)

Load your game in your old emulator, then save the game normally.  Start/Save/Yes

File/Export/Battery File/flash save. (save it something recognisable)

Open VbaLink, then open the game.

File/Import/Battery File/flash save. (open the flash save)
