Does anyone play Guild wars? My boyfriend and I wanna buy it but we don't know if it's worth it. I've looked it up on some forums, one guys says it's a total waste of time so to speak, and some other guy says it's the greatest game ever. To buy, or not to buy?

Well, my friend plays it...a lot... like a whole lot so yeah i think you should buy it...

I played it for quite a while. The PvE is generally boring, although with friends it can be a lot of fun. There isn't crafting or anything like that, its mostly focused on pvp. Guild wars are fun. If you like pvp then you should get it, after all it doesn't have any monthly fees.

I bought the game and I love it =D I'm an elementalist/Necromancer. Which means I have magic and I can summon dead creaturs. I've had alot of quests already. But I like the missions better. They can be quite long and you get more of a "working together" kinda feeling. It's funny how you can dance, laugh, cheer and stuff like that  :)

GUILDWARS is one of the best mmo's Ive ever played> the fact that it has no monthly also helps.The game is regularly updated, so alot of new content is added monthly. The pvp in it especially with the expansion of fantions and the upcoming nightfall is top notch. PvE(story mode) is fun and intense> if you dont believe me- try the missions from GW factions.
Some would say that all this game has is its pvp, but I believe that its PVE and PVP are about equal. From what I have noticed lately with the addition of the abilitity to acquire titles, more ppl have begun to play the missions and even the veterans of the game who pvp are playing PvE again.

My opinion its a good buy. You can choose to buy either of the guildwars titles <factions> or < the original prophecies>. You dont need the other to play, but it helps to have both if your the type who wants to get eveything from the customizable armors to the various weapons.

Angeleyez wanted to hear some comments about that game before buying it, but now she owns it, this is a 6 month old topic... >:(

you really should =D a guy told me that he does see what you pay for on world of warcraft though. So I just won't play wow so I won't know the difference

Here's my question:

I've heard that you have to start paying a subscription fee after you reach a certain level.  Is this true, or is it just a rumor.

I haven't heard anything about this. I doubt that it's true. You can only level up till level 20 which is a shame. I haven't seen you in like forever btw!

Angeleyz, we havent seen alot of our comrades. Its a good thing hmaddict return...hopefully for a longer time.

Thats one thing i dont like about guild wars, the low level limit.

Yeah I know, it shocked me when I heard about level 20 being the maximum =( but it's still a great game. Enough other things to do than level up =D

Sometimes the game doesnt have many things to do which limit the capabilities of things, but its good to know that the game is ok with you.

I'll just stick to Football Manager 2007 for the time being :p
