I was looking through the forum and was shocked when I didn't see a thread about this, even though so many people are following E3.

Final Fantasy 13 is coming out for the PS3. So we at least know Square isn't doing much console jumping with the FF franchise for a while now. Apparently its apart of three games coming out at once, Fabula Nova Crystallis; Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII. The first two are for the PS3 the third for mobile.

Theres a video at IGN, and it looks beautiful. The song playing in the background is awesome ><!

So unlike the 360, the PS3 looks like it has a strong line up of game in the making. The FF series is going to help sales drastically.

I doubt it. You want o pay $600 so you can play a game from a series that has been declining since X?

I doubt anyone would buy a console to play one game, though it probably will boost sales some; fanboys jumping on the bandwagon and such.

But anyways, though I do like the series I have been a bit wary of the games since X.  Any word on a date?  I'd bet it'd be at least mid '07, if not later.  I wouldn't mind if they take their time if they make it worth it.

Well I'm personally looking forward to Final Fantasy VXXIII: Getting Tired.

Declining since 10? They've only had 3 games since then...
X-2, which was just a spinoff sequel
XI, which their first try at an MMO
XII, Said to be a masterpiece, and got a 40/40 from Famistu.
Final Fantasy is strong ;)

Lol the PS3 has plenty of other great games coming out.
If you have to be reminded of MGS4 then you should die...
Assassin's Creed looks pretty good, and seems to have an interesting story
Heavenly Sword, its like the next gen version of god of war.

Lol when it comes to square I am a fanboy, I'm not going to agrue it.

there will be some differences between the 2 ps3 games I think. One is made by the people that also made ff7, ff8 and ffx (could be wrong) and the other is made by the people who made FFAC. I saw a trailer but it didn't show much.

To tell you the truth I really think they are taking this series a little to far now, they just don't seem to want to stop. They are all great games but how much do they plan to make. >_>

lol, I keep wondering that myself ;p but square is also working on some other rpg's =) I kinda lost interest in final fantasy when I played ffx-2. I played a demo of ff12 but I didn't like it that much.

lol they could name any game final fantasy and it'd be a final fantasy game, because they're not related...
So they're not really whoring the series because none of the games are connected. Your not playing the same sotry. Your not using the same battle system. The games are always different, but only the names are the same.

Because of that, when my friends and I talk about the 'Final Fantasy Series,' we usually include Chrono Trigger and Kingdom Hearts, among other games, with the rest, because except for the lack of the FF name they are FF games.  KH even has FF characters, after all.  So even after the title 'Final Fantasy' dies out, as long as Square is making games like they do there will always be Final Fantasy.

I'd like to at least try it, but I'm so far behind the times gaming-wise that it will be several years before I get to. 

well i gotta admit.... square enix isnt selling the final fantasy series as they used to although they made a HUGE hit with advent children.... i dont want to admit it but it has been declining
