The Nintendo Revolution is the codename for Nintendo's next generation console. It will provide a new and innovative way for gamers across the globe to play. It will be Wi-Fi compatible right out of the box so that you can get straight into playing on-line if you have a broadband internet connection. It can stand vertically or horizontally and has a self-loading media bay.

Console Specs

CodeName: Nintendo Revolution

IBM CPU Chip: Codenamed "BroadWay"

ATI GPU Chip: Codenamed "HollyWood"

Disks: 12cm DVD disks

DVD Reader: Optional attachment

Memory: 512 Flash memory for downloads and saves

HardDrive: Option attachment

Extra Storage: SD card slots

Ports: Two USB ports

Size: Three DVD cases stacked togethor

BackWord Compatibility: Play GameCube games, can read GC memory cards, and has slots for up to 4 GC controllers on top of the console.

On-line: The REV fully supports on-line play. All that is required is an active broadband internet connection, and a router. If you do not have a router, you may purchase Nintendo's USB dongle.

Price: Anyone's guess right now. It will most likely be ~$200-300 though. And the rumor going around that it will be $99 is false. How would Nintendo make profit if it were true?

Downloads: Game downloads will also be available with the REV's on-line capabilities. You will be able to download NES, SNES, and N64 games and play them on the REV. Prices are currently unknown.

Colors: Launch colors are yet unknown. Although from various screen, colors that have been seen are: green, blue, white, black, silver, orange, and red.

Controller

The controller was recently unvieled causing much speculation as to how it could be used and whether it was a smart move or not for Nintendo. The controller is shaped like a TV remote and and has censors allowing you to manipulate movement on your TV simply by tilting the controller in any direction.

It also has a port on the bottom for addition attachments such as the "Num-Chuck" attachment that was shown. Nintendo announced that there will also be a shell so that you may play games with a traditional controller feel. And yes, it will be totally wireless!

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for Revolution!

Gamefaqs is without a doubt, the worse place to get info. Go to www.revo-europe.com if you want decent info.

the opening price that was provided is a total joke.

my friend told me the Revolution is going to be $150 on its release date.

I don't have a link to prove it because I saw my friend in person.

What I've noticed is that the official Ninty site has less info than, for example, www.revo-europe.com or www.n-sider.com.

well, thats telling me that www.revo-europe.com is not getting a reliable source from there information. It's like asking a sheep farmer what is the best way to buy and sell shares... if that makes sense.

From what I've noticed, revo-europe usually gets news before the official ninty site does.

What i've noticed is that a lot of rumours sprout from sites like those. The Nintendo site will tell you no lies.

which is kind of annoying because they don't tend to tell you anything until very late.

Let's hope the games are better than the revolutions visual design.

WHAT?! The visual design of the rev is far better than the XBOX360 or the PS3!

And besides, thats a prototype.
