^ That video shows somebody beating Super mario 64 in 16 minutes with 16 stars! Ok, he takes advantage of some glitches, but without them, it wouldn't be possible.

The only thought that came to my head while I watched that was "Is the person who did this even human?!".

Actually heres how your meant to do some of the tricky stuff the player does:

heres how he did it:

Super Mario 64 Beat in 16:27 (Using Recorded Moves)!

In other news, there is now an impressive "Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS)" video for Super Mario 64. What's a TAS you ask? It is a recording of moves that can be played back in an emulator, and it is designed to beat the game as quickly as possible (sometimes using bugs, sometimes not). When recording the moves, the author can play the game in slow motion and rewind as many times as necessary to get the moves perfect. Ultimately, the goal is to see how fast the game could be beat if an absolutely perfect player were playing. So, don't let this video make you feel bad, because nobody can play this well, not even the author of the video. In this case, Super Mario 64 is beat in only 16 minutes and 27 seconds!

Ah well. Techinically he/she didn't complete it. They only got 16/120 stars. So they only defeated the boos in 16 minutes! Plus the backwards long jump? Surely that can't work? Some of the jumps were impossible! (in the desert one he shouild of sank!).

I've done the backwards long jump up the unending stairs. It's certainly possible.

Everything you see in that video is possible, the person who did it somply took advantage of various glitches.

Rae_Raven: I edited your link since it was stretching the page.

~Yeah I've seen that Mario 64 video before, pretty amazing. I didn't know that he used a tool though, I thought he was just incredibly skilled, which he still is, even if he 'cheated with a tool'. The glitches are pretty hard to pull off without some practice, and even if you practice and become an expert at doing them, there's still an element of luck involved, which makes the 'Tool Assisted Speedrun' theory even more valid.

He wasn't completely perfect though, I think if someone took the time with that program they could do it at least 5 minutes faster than him.
