I've recently downloaded the Animal Crossings WW map editor and I'm enjoying it quite well, but I discovered an interesting bit of news.

Apparently Nintendo made a mistake and created an inavalid red tulip item when testing something out. This little thing is received in a letter, and if you take the item out, which is a red tulip, and place it on the ground of your house that spot is rendered unusable. Items can't be pushed over or placed on this space.

I thought it was pretty neat. I know there aren't too many Animal Crossings DS players on this site, but I just thought it was an interesting bit of general gaming news.

Basically Nintendo and AiboHack are warning anyone who uses ACWW online to watch out for 'evil' visitors carrying such invalid items. And apparently the map editor can be used to create such invalid items so be warned, practice safe town visiting.

I'm quite p***ed off, though, since Nintendo of Europe treat us Europeans like pure s***, and we always have to wait ages for games to reach here.

The topic isn't exactly about how much we hate NOE, but I'll endulge.

Europe has tougher patenting laws than North America and Japan. The economies in European countries are slightly older than the other two areas (US around 230 years, Canada around 130 years, and Japan since 1945). Because of this, coupled with the television standard in most of Europe (Japan and North America use NTSC while Europe mostly uses PAL), games arrive in Europe significantly slower than they do in the States, Canada and Japan. International patents are tricky things. It is not NOEs fault at all.

You guys got Alien Hominid for GBA. No other place in the world did. Just be proud of that one.

Off-topic: I still can't get alien hormid where I live! (may it be damned!)

On-topic: A message to all players of Animal Crossing: Wild World, please, watch out for any un-wanted visitors, since recently, many hackers have been destroying peoples games by replacing the WIFI gates with the gates for the museum, and therefore makes the WIFI useless, however, if this does happen to you, DO NOT SAVE! At any cost, you must not save the game, tell anybody within your village that your village haas been hacked, and the only solution is to turn off the game without saving, and disconnecting anybody who is in your village at that time.

Just goes to show you that if you are able to backup your gamesave via action replay DS (not for coding purposes, simply gamesaves) you should backup often. Or if you, like me, own a supercard, or any other type of DS pirating hardware, use that to backup your gamesaves.

With the animal crossings map editor the author tells me that you can trap your friends in your house by putting large objects in front of the door. They go in and can't get out cause you've put something in their way that they can't move.

Basically people are mean.

The only problem with the DS wifi is that it seems it is ungoverned. There isn't much keeping people from cheating, i.e. a moderator. i haven't encountered anyone in Mario Kart cheating, and I tend not to go online with Animal Crossings unless I know who you are, but apparently this stuff is out there.
