I have the EFA for my GBA games and I was wondering what backup system works best with all ROMs (and doesn't need to be patched) for NDS backups.  Links would be great.  Thanks.

With the EFA you can use the passme. No patching required.

There is no 'best' as they all do the same thing.

That second link I gave you tells how exactly to make most carts work with a passme. Mostly you have to disable the multirom menu (there is a way to get multiple ds roms working, I'll post that later in some kind of post...) but you can't do that with some carts. Again, consult the list.

I use a supercard, but that involes patching...
