We all remember hearing about those poor saps who spent multiple hundreds in 2000 on a box for the PS2 instead of a PS2 when it first came out around xmas? Wasn't that fun? Scamming? It's great. Well, some jerks are at it again! And guess what they're doing? Selling pictures of xbox 360s. Yes that's right folks, some stupid kids are preying on some other stupid kids' stupidity.

Just check ebay for some of these deplorable auctions.

People are jerks. Don't get any ideas kids. This is called fraud.

It is not just that, it is the thought that you will get the system itself. On Ebay, there are ratings and from the ratings you can tell if the source is reliable or not.

My point is, clearly the people bidding on these items aren't reading the auction where the seller, yes, did state quite clearly that it was for pics, but the seller put those up there to prey on thsoe who either don't know how to use ebay or are too excited by a low price to check the actual auction.

I contacted the people on the bidding list AND ebay, hopefully these people won't have to spent $500+ to learn their lesson about bidding responsibly.

This happens ALL the time, many people do that on auction sites. I remember a while ago someone was selling the box of a perfume instead of the actual perfume. I have even heard of people doing the same with Game boxes and so on. This just goes to show that you shouldn't trust anything and always read the details on the product, check the ratings and then proceed with buying on auction sites.

I dont think this is fraud because the guy says that hes selling only the picture of the 360.

But why did he put it up? Did he really expect people to buy a pic? It may not be fraudulent in your eyes but it's at least dishonest.

Some of the members I contacted replied to my warnings and have retracted their bids. It seems they didn't want a picture of an xbox 360 after all.
