Huh? Do you mean a link to a Bittorrent client? The speed of torrents only depend a tiny bit on the client you use. Whatever client you use will still depend on the torrent itself. If it has significantly greater number of peers than seeds, it will be a slow download no matter what you do.

Also, the speed your torrents download at depends on a lot of factors, ie. your connection speed, whether you're using a router, whether your ports are open, whether your software firewall is blocking the ports etc.

The speed of torrents depends on how many people are seeding the file, and how many are leeching the file and everyone's internet connection.

If you have one seeder and one leecher and the seeder uses a 56k modem while the leecher has a DSL connection, the leecher will expect a very slow connection.

If you have 20 seeders and one leecher and every seeder and leecher uses a DSL connection then the leecher will get it quickly.

If you have 20 seeders and 20 leechers and every seeder and leecher uses a DSL connection then the leechers will get the files in no time at all.

Best way to speed things up is to get your friends to download the same file. Sonuds silly but it's true. Also, keep seeding files once you've downloaded them.

After you download a file, you have the option to leave it on your task panel.  If you do, you are seeding it.  (It may be different for other clients, I am using BitComet)

also, you can choose to seed a file from your computer for others to download.

seeding = leaving your bandwidth open so other people can get the files off of you (the seeder)
leeching = downloading from a seeder

Downloading is downloading, I don't really understand your question.

And Thaddius and I already listed the factors deciding how fast you download. Can't tell you more until you give more details.

oh dear...
you do know the basic princple of bittorrent right? Its like a peer2peer network (like KaZaA) basically when you are downloading (called leeching) you are downloading of a different person (called a seeder), when you finish your download, but keep your bittorrent program open, you are seeding...

It all depends on the connection and the no. of leechers and seeders. Personally,I think downloading via torrents is slow because I use 56k dial-up.
