I have not heard much about it but nintendo is trying to be innovative with something even more compact than sp.

I don't remeber Nintendo saying that...

I think the micro is a testament to Nintendo's promise to keep suporting the GBA even with the DS out there.

It's working. They're still making excellent games for gba AND ds. Have you tried advance wars ds? It's amazing!

advance wars on tha ds looks almost exactly like it would on a gba, if they had made it a bit more graphically advanced then I'd say it wuld've been amazing, however since they didn't, I tihnk the game shuld've been released on a gba

btw, this seems like it could be the making of a good debate topic; I suggest moving it

I think it belongs in discussion, as that's what this board is for, so I'm leaving it.

They did imporve Advance Wars DS graphically, it uses 3d effects that the originals never did. Also the use of the touch screen, which really helps out. Not everything to do with games hinges on graphics you know. It you want better graphics than a GBA or DS get a playstation.

GBM doesn't bother me in the least. It's not like I NEED to get one. And again, Nintendo is reassuring their public that the GBA is still going to be supported, which is something many people worried about with the inception of the DS.

but doesn't the ds have backwards compatibility??
cuz if so then they shuldn't have to make another version of tha gba, just keep making gba games

I'm curious as to if the Micro will have built in wireless linkup, because I think I heard that the DS can be used as a controller for the Revolution.  If the Micro could do the same it would be nice.

i think did the gba micro just to keep their word to continue on supporting the gba. i think it was too drastic though. the sp was small enough for me.

@shibubu:  The DS only plays GBA and DS cartiges while the GBM plays all GB, GBC, and GBA games.

@Drifter:  The DS is NOT and will never be a controller for the Nintendo Revolution.  It wouldn't work with the sensors.

@all:  The GBM is NOT worth it.  Pay $99.99 for a system that is smaller than your hand and the screen is tiny when you can buy a bigger, better version that won't get smashed if you sit on it (closed) for $79.99 or less?  I don't think so!

I don't like the GB micro at all, I would still rather a DS or a PSP over it.

The DS might not work with the Revolution's sensors, but both the DS and the Revolution have WiFi capabilities.  And after the recent bout of linking the handheld to the console, which really is great for games like LoZ: Four Swords and FF: Crystal Chronicles, I doubt that they would drop the idea with the Revolution.

The only reason why I would see that they wouldn't is that the Revolution's controller seems so versatile, what with all of the periphials that they can create and incorporate so easily, they might not need to use the DS.  But then the only issue is people buying the periphial when they already have the DS.  But maybe they don't, so it doesn't matter.

The micro was intended to intice new gamers to the scene.

Fret not gameboy advance and sp (to a lesser extent the ds) owners for no one has dictated that you MUST buy a micro.

Well, the SP has been out for a while now.  Long enough for most people to scratch up the screen terribly enough to warrant a replacement.

I like the fact that the Micro is coming out because the price of an SP will drop low enough for even me to get one.  SP is good enough for me.
