ok i done this before on this siggy:

and i forget how i made it fade to white, i was experimenting as usual :P
so how is it done?
i know its done by painting the background then they all start fading so don't say do each layer individually

no it isn't that i remember brushing the image and nothing happened until i looked at the animation frames

Brushing? That has nothing to do with brushing. You just put the 1st pic in a frame, and put a totally white screen in a 2nd frame, select both frames and then click the tweening button. (the one that looks like 3 circles together) Then select the number of frames you want in between the two frames.

That kind of fading is probably around 10 frames.
