This really depends on what the person likes, your friend could rather the N-gage because of the fact that he could communicate using it. Though the PSP is better when it comes down to gaming, I rather a PSP because I could use a cell phone to make calls so the N-gage really serves no use for me.
the N-Gage and the N-Gage QD (Quesedilla Edition) is probably the worst excecution of a decent idea. Basically what they did was what microsoft did: They said "Wait a minute! we can give the gaming market a shot!" and rushed it out the door because kids are ignorant and stupid and will buy anything that beeps and bloops.
Unfortunately for them, they were dea wrong. That, and its pretty easy to see that when you throw in an MP3 player, a phone, and a gaming system into a small little peice of plastic, its gona cost. And people don't generally buy things that aren't worth the money. Generally....
The PSP, while it is nice, has its flaws too. But the PSP is part of the new generation of gaming, while the N-gage is like.. long long behind this generation. I wouldn't even consider it for debate.

the thing that most people went "omfg" about with the N-Gage was that it could make phone calls. big f*cking deal, ever heard of a mobile phone? psp's gaming beats N-Gage senseless, it's graphics are so modern. N-Gage isn't revolutionary at all, its a piece of equipment rather than a gaming console with great features.
I personally think that neither of those two portables are btter, the DS is the best, and has been a massive sucess in every country on the planet.....execept great britain, but if I HAD to choose one of those two, it would have to be the PSP, because doctor who episodes are being realesed for it.
