we'll end up destroying ourselves, we seem to be doing a pretty good job of deforrestation already, war and terrorism are doing a great job of destroying the places we live. So depending on what you mean by Earth ending, I think the Earth ends when it is no longer inhabitable by humans.

Some things just seem so far away. We mosty think "Oh, that stuff only happens in movies" and then something like a terrorist attack or a hurricane happens and it seems realistic. It's scary in a way, that some things that we fear might actually happen in the (near) future.

Whoever thinks a meteor will collide with earth.

Well a meteor of the size of chile is considered small, it can have the power to nudge the earth out of its axis and if not that powerfull it might shake the whole earth causing a global earthquake that will divide countries into islands.
The earth has never witnessed any meteor collide. But dinasours did.
