Heh, you people actually think a beam of light can blow up an asteroid the size of montanna!!! ROFLMAO!!! Sorry, but I dont think that lasers will be used unless they are guiding the thing that will actually move the asteroid. fyi, LASERs are the most mechanically inefficient machines that are regularily used.
Back on topic, If an asteroid were to hit earth, mankind would not be wiped out. Do you people understand how widespread civilization is? Also, at this second there about *200,000(on a daily average) people on airplanes worldwide. There are *56(on a daily average) people orbiting the earth in temporary space stations from different countries. Im sure that at least one of them will have knowledge of how to use their resources to survive and move themselves.

creating a huge floud around the world making most life die on the surface.Which all the stuff on the ground(Garbage,food,dead animals) will pollute the ocean and kill the animals in the water.

But to me, it all ends when all lazy fat-asses in the world unleash a huge fart-bomb. BEWARE!!!
In all seriousness though, I think the Revelation book is about to happen w/ al; the damn calamities. Also I believe a great fortune-teller called Notradame (sp?) or w/e fortold the 9/11 attacks >_>
