yep, that was the reason, but i haven't played megaman X4-X8, and don't know the end of the reploid wars and how it turned to be the elf wars... of course i've played Megaman Zero, but last episodes of X series are needed to understand everything...

Wow, i made this topic really long ago... anyway i;m not sure but i think in Megaman X 5 or 6 Zero trys to kill X... can someone check this?

i've read something (a long ago...), and as i can remember, through the X series, Zero dies, returns, fights side by side with X, who dissapears in a part of the saga, then Zero searchs for X and stuff... both reunite and i think at the end, X gave his life to save Zero and terminate with Sigma (or Omega, can't remember), i'll come up with more details, right now i'm all sleepy, so wait for your Spam God ;D

'Zero' as in the original Zeero from the original series is actually the 'failed' result of protoman... an upgraded version of Megaman... only he was made using the Sigma Virus....as in protoman was being upgrade to be a maverick hunter immune 2 the sigma virus... but the sigma virus took control of his body... 'Zero' went on a wild rampage destroying Dr.light's lab... after the rampage... the sigma virus erased all of protoman/zero's previous memories leaving him blank... he was found by some dude i cant remeber his name (the sucessor to dr.wily) found him and recruited him
throught the X series...  Zero appears as more as a neutral party until X5 or X6 when he becomes a playable charachter... it is apparent that when ever zero comes in contact with the sigma virus he becomes stronger and more tainted... in X5 if you didnt succeed in beating all the bosses in the limeted time zero becomes evil and black and evoles hmself into the sigma virus renedering him unusable by the player.

actually, in Megaman X3 you can already play as Zero, but it's not from the begining of the game, after it (megaman X4) Zero is available as a character from the begining :D

And then the megaman zero series starts with Zero being revived and going against many many people! and later X himself

yep, zero gets his shot at a saga, and it's good as well :D

X is even greater than Zero in the zero sagas, if only X appeared as a playable character, then the saga would have been more interesting...
