There is no way to speed it up, unless you play on a LAN.  (I think, anyways..)

on LAN/INTERNET the speed is the same.  yes it is a b**ch to play something that slow.  so far i have no clue on how to fix that, maybe they can make a better VBA that can go 100% while linked...

the lan thing should be powerfull too, emulation uses too much sh*t to be fast.
also the computers linked should be good too.

No it's not.  LANs are MUCH MUCH faster than the internet, and the real problem here is the communication between the GBA's, not the emulation of the games.  I think the speed of the link cable was 4 megabytes per second... but I don't remember.

lol...Lan and Internet is the same, considering that the emulator is using TCP connections rather than UDP connections.  Basically your emulator does care about the Information that it is sending and recieving that is why it is so slow.  If your emulator didnt give a sh*t than it would run way faster than what you are experiencing.

Lets see, which is faster:  a direct connection between two computers, or a connection that needs 5 hops to get to its destination?

::)

The emulation speed is slow because the computers can't communicate fast enough, so the emulator slows down the emulation so they can communicate like a GBA would.  And since LAN is faster than internet, it can speed up more while with the internet, it has to slow down so it can communicate properly.

Like i said, They made VBA use TCP rather than UDP.  TCP takes more time than UDP!

And you are correct when you mention about the hops, but it is more about the type of IP connection they make it use.

In a perfect internet world it wouldn't matter.  But since we all know it's not perfect, LAN will out perform over the internet.

I get 100% speed over LAN and 40-60% speed over internet connection.
