I'm using epsxe and trying to play a CD R that I burn using Alcohol 120%. It is Suikoden II and when I try playing it; it will load but start skipping when it starts showing the intro. I burned with lowest speed for Alcohol 4x.

My CD ROM setting on epsxe:

Using P.E.Op.S CD Driver 1.4

I've it on default thing: interface: W2k/XP - l0CTL scsi commands. Drive D

I don't think you have to burn the game. That's only necesary when playing it on a chipped psx. I think the file is corrupt.

Well I can think of two problems.
First, in Alchohol, are yuo using the 'playstation' setting when burning? If not, that might be it.

Another might be the resolution. If it's skipping you may be playing a PAL game instead of an NTSC game. You shuold be able to change the settings to fix that. I don't know how to do it right now, I'll edit my post when I get home.

Well I retried it out and it works when I acutally play the game. The only time it starts to drag and lag is when you first load it and it showing the opening intro scene before you press start. But when I hit start and start playing the game there is hardly any lag. It lags when I'm about to do battle, the music will skip and it will sorta hit a spike when the screen breaks and then the battle start.

The only reason I burned it to a CD is because the file is .mds and .mdf

And the game is not PAL, its NTSC.

Well if you used the 'playstation' setting in alchohol when you burned it, it'd be more likely to work. If you have in fact done that I have no ideas for you.

Yes, I used the Playstation option.

Okay I checked to make sure it wasn't the game itself; so I got one of my PSX games to see if it works. It too lag on the FMV parts too.

Anyone know of a good CDrom plugin and as to what options I should enable?

This never happened on the old epsxe I had. When I upgraded to the epsxe 160, this is the first time I've tried using CDrom and having problems with it.

Why don't you get Daemon Tools and mount the ISO onto that?

I didn't know about that software. I tried it out and it works. It is playing Suikoden II perfect. Thanx man. :)
