Simple or Complex animations.

depends really, Flash MX is your companion if you want too make complex animations (i.e Movies), Adobe for gifs, ive never tried Gifs in fireworks (shall do when i get 10 min) but adobe is simple an easy too use so thats probably your best bet, an also if you want too start flash animation your gona need photoshop or fireworks any way for the graphics ^_^
