Legacy of Kain series. If you look at each game in the series individually, it might seem vague and not complete. But piece them together, and you get a storyline worth writing a few novels about.

Sonic Adventure 2....it strived to move away from its kiddish ancestors and made a very brooding story...way different than before... :)

The Golden sun series had a great story line too.
I really liked those RPG's they were very long and enjoyable.
And how you had to go and light all the lighthouses was cool too.
I think that game had one of the best story lines when it came to GBA.

My favorite storyline is Final fantasy VIII, it was the first one I ever played of the final fantasy series. I also loved the FFX story. God of war was pretty nice too. Sonic, lol. It was up cheery (not a word, but meh)

Did Morrowind have a story?

Front Mission 3, my first Square game.  Square usually kicks out good games.

No offense to ya FF7 fans, but FF7 SUCKS! The storyline is horrible, linear and unoriginal, the characters are also stereotypical an' boring. If ya compare it to any O the great RPGs out there, Final Fantasy is nothing.

My favourite storyline in a game would have to be the Baldurs Gate series, it's just so open and massive, that everything you do, everything you are, every choice you make will have an impact on your game at some point in the future, whether it be 3 hours later, or 50 days later, the storyline is just so open and non-linear it's amazing. You can almost liken it to Morrowwind, games like this don't have a fixed storyline, they have a storyline ya can create as you play the game, and everytime you play it, there will be many differences. Anyone can write a good scripted storyline, but to write a storyline which is almost 'unscripted' is just amazing, in fact.
