What are the advantages & disadvantages for these two programs RpgMaker and GameMaker

Advantages for RPGMAKER:
Good Graphics
Ruby Script Suppport or whatever it's called
NOvices can catch on
Resource Manager
Custom Music/edit pitch
Lots of event thingies
Advantages for GMaker:
YOu can make non-RPG Games
Platforms are the best for this
Custom Music/Edit Music like echo or pan
Particles AKA Special Effects
Many features
Paint Editor
Animator (Note that it doesn't loop)
Disadvantages for RPGMAKERXP:
_____________Error common for me
The average RPG should be over 7MB.
Takes you a lopng time. A long time.
Resources to get are tiring in my opinion
Should be original
Disadvantages for GameMaker:
Proffesional work, not great for Novices
Long time as well lol
Animator doesn't loop lol
Particles only work for Registered

You can also make non RPG Games On RPGMaker but you have to change the script(basic) alot!Also you'd need to bring in a whole new list of imports!

Are any of these programs capable of being successfully run under wine (I have linux)?

Game Maker doesn't go for Linux because it says this on it's official site: Game Maker runs under Windows 98 SE, 2000, ME, or XP. and RPG Maker XP hmmm...
And the site on RPG MAKER XP has this:
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows 98 / 98SE / ME / 2000 / XP Japanese Version*
CPU: Intel PentiumIII 800MHz or better
RAM: 128MB or more
Video: 1024x768 High Color
Sound: DirectSound Compatible card
Hard Drive Space: 100MB or more
