b0b, i don't know if you've ever cared for someone, but i sure have. flarestar is right, if you really care for a person enough you won't want to see them die, your actual nature will be to save their life. But of course this doesn't apply to all people it seems.
If i care for the person enough, and if i think they'd do the same thing for me, then i'd do it. I love my girlfriend, i love my family, i'd do it i think. If they were old though then probably not. Like say if my parents grow up to be like 60, then maybe not. I'm not really sure.
If your worried about them living the rest of their lives in sorrow, then just make sure you say 'I LOVE YOU!!' before you die, that's about all you can do and it will make their lives better for sure :)

What I'm saying is that when it really comes down to the crunch you have no idea what you will do and how you'll react. For all we know you could just runaway fearing for your life when you said you would sacrifice your life here.

Love can cause people to go against their so called "human nature" and do crazy things. You've probably never experienced it, so you wouldn't know. Not everything people does it Logical.
Besides, Taking a bullet isn't too much against human nature, they take it for money, love, patroitism and probably many other reasons. Don't be so quick to judge everyone on your failings.

B0b has a point though but so do flarestar, pixie and cl. If it would come down to you being shot, you'd be scared sh*tless. You'd want to run for your life because then you'd actually know that you're about to die.

Alright then what about if it was your family that you took the bullet for.
They wouldn't want to see YOU die for taking the bullet for them right?

No, it isn't complete bullshit, so don't go telling me what I would and would not fucking do. I know for a fact I could not live with myself if I had the chance to save someones life, and didn't, no matter what the cost.

It depends if you have your heart up your sleeve now that I think about ti I couldn't see my self not trying to save a persons live if I could no matter who they are cause it's not about who they are to you it's the fact that one persons life cold be saved from the 50 000 that die everyday.
