I don't know since I've been playing since I was 4 or something  So I don't really have anything to compare to.
I play them for fun. I don't think they've really affected me in any way.
Only thing they've made me better at is playing games  :D

I don't think gaming has made me a better person. I think it helped me be less bored though. I already watched movies with violence, and that did not affect me either, so I guess it's the same with games.

I think its stupid about how old people are saying video games do that.
They just entertain you!!

if it was like a sci fi game or puzzle stratedgy, then yeah i guess it would make you a better person. But if it was Silent Hill or something.. then get ready to duck down.

No. I played too much, still sort of do, ignoring other things in life. What other things? well all the rest that actually matters.

But through some games you do learn things, military things for one..strategies and stuff like that. Or how to kill zombies (aim for the brain)..its very useful.

They're good for wasting time, and for taking breaks with, and you also get one more thing to talk about with friends.

Games help me get along with some friends sometimes. It's something that you share in common and it's much more fun playing with friends than playing with people who you don't know or the computer.

[font=verdana]Well i only play for about 1 hour on the weekends, it's a good discipline that really works, and you'll find you'll be doing much better at school and in real life if you restrict your game playing time to the weekends and holidays. Games on a whole aren't good for you, but a little bit won't do any harm at all.

For me games have actually increased my reaction time, i'm a very good sprinter as i can get very fast off the mark, which is all thanks to fast reaction times, which i believe contributed from my playing games when i was a kid.

1 hour?  How can you get anything done in a game?  For me its 3-4 hours a day.  (I have no sosial life what-so-ever)

I don't get anything done. But remember i'm not playing the games because i'm all that interested in them. I play them for fun and to keep my mind from other things.

Games have made me a more articulate person, believe it or not, especially the MGS series games since the story line has made me look for some words I could not understand in the dictionary. Games have also helped me blow off some steam instead of going ballistic on an innocent bystander.
