I think it may be a bug or a glitch in the program. :'(

It's not the RAM. I've changed my virtual memory settings and it still freezes. And it occurs even if I don't link.

Im not too sure how to fix it then.

Alright, i've done some more research into this problem. It seems that certain people not only have this problem wtih VBA Link, but with every other Visualboy Advance emulator. I've found numberous solutions to the problem, so i'll list them all here, you'll just have to try each one out as each one worked for someone in the world:

[*]Update your Sound and Video Drivers, as they normally cause freezing problems. Also make sure your Windows Patches and DirectX versions are up to date.
[*]Scan your computer for adware and spyware. Also check if any Virus scanners are running, and if so, try turning them off.
[*]Check if you have any driver/resource conflicts. If your sound and controller drivers or any other driver are clashing with each other, your emulator will freeze up extremely fast. Check to see if there are any other programs running that could be causing the problem.
[*]Try opening the ROM in fullscreen, then changing it back to the size you want after a few minutes.

This is most likely a driver problem so check to see that they're all updated. Good luck  ;)

I've tried all of these solutions but none of them worked.
But I've noticed that, if I run the emulator and shut it down after a couple of minutes and restart again, it will not freeze. (if I keep doing this)
Do you know what this means?

Has your computer got a virus? Does any other applications behave in the same way? Have you tried the non-linkable version of VBA?

Well it sounds like, whenever your using VIsualBoyAdvance, it's taking up resources very rapidly. I actually don't have a solution to this problem, but as gbx_hater said, you should try the other versions of VBA (the non-link version preferably), or even some other emulators such as RascalBoy Advance or BoycottAdvance.

List your computer specs, for example:

CPU: INTEL PENTIUM 4 WITH HT TECH
RAM: 512 MB
VIDEO: INTEL w/64MB VIDEO RAM

etc...

It could be that you have alot of programs running and therefore conflicts with the resources needed to play your VBA emulator.  Try upgrading your computer or disabling some programs, sometimes it can be other programs that stop the emulator or other programs from functioning. For example, my Virus scanner will not let me install Counter Strike, so i have to disable it to install it. you might have some programs like that but i am not sure.
