i don't know if it is real but i think it is because if you go screenshots for diablo 2 exp it comes up that picture, or at least that is what i have been told.

Who told you this..or where did you find this pic?

i knew i had seen this picure before but i didn't know where so i looked up "diablo 3" in i think google and it came up some random forum and that is where i seen this pic and the thing about where it was.

The best place to know whether D3 is coming out is to check the Blizzard website at www.blizzard.com or the Battle.net website at www.battle.net. So far they have announced NOTHING regarding D3 whatsoever, so don't expect the game to be out anytime soon.
Note that there was a 5 year gap between D1 and D2, so expect D3 in about 2006-2007.

FYI the team that made Diablo and Diablo 2 have left Blizzard.  They went to Microsoft and made Dungeon Siege.  Diablo 3, if Blizzard even decides to make it, won't be out for quite a long time.  I bet they probably won't revisit the Diablo universe atleast until 2008 if ever.

They threw all their resources into WoW.

Surely not! Dungeon Siege SUXXXXX! The World of Warcraft team seems to be mighty skilled at making good RPGs, surely Bliz still has guys left to make D3?

I'd rather they make something fresh, not with the reincarnation of evil theme and all that hell stuff. Its not a theme I like. I somewhat enjoyed Diablo 1, for its RPG gameplay..but as for the settings..bleh. 2 was a lot more varied, thankfully..but it ended up much the same stuff again..just don't like that.

I love the Diablo games because of the ability to commit genocide for the good of mankind without hurting anyone. It is such an easy game to play if you know what you're doing, and I can somehow release all my frustration by playing that game.
After an hour or so of mass killing, I tend to feel much better and calmer. I think everyone needs a way to release stress and anger, and killing those annoying little monsters dozens at a time just does it for me. I would be very disappointed if no sequel was made.

Lol, what you just said is basically any given FPS for me. Or Dynasty Warriors.

Still I admit the ideas behind the first Diablo were good and as far as I know original (random dungeon effect), its just that it's a bit too hack n slash for me.

Sorry, the core team (i.e. Bill Roper and the 4 lead designers) left Blizzard.  If I can dig up the Blizzard article I'll link it.  It said something to the fact that they might not visit the Diablo universe again.

I'm all for something new and fresh.  I do however really enjoy the way Diablo and Diablo 2 play.  The random loot generation, random dungeons, mass killing, etc... are the reasons that after even 4 years they are still selling new copies.

I'd love a Diablo 3... but then again I want Starcraft 2 more ;D

Well there is a game like Diablo II that has a different theme. It actually uses the Diablo II engine. But with a completely different storyline, classes, skills, stats, items, new everything, it's a new game. (well it's pretty old now at least 2, 3 years i'd think)

But yeah, it's pretty dated, and the storyline isn't really that creative. Your the heir to the throne of a province in Japan when suddenly a mysterious person kills your father and steals the crown, and then sends in men to kill you inside the palace and stop you from getting out. You have to escape from the palace and hunt down your father's killers and get the throne back, otherwise the land will be in chaos...

So it's just like Diablo with a Samurai/Ninja storyline, new skills, new enemies, new boss characters, and that's about it. You can probably find it on p2p or something, but i wouldn't recommend it, i've played it, and it's ok. But only if you really liked Diablo II.

On a general basis, Diablo II pWnz this 'clone' imo.
