As far as it goes with specs, the Ps3 wins.

I personally prefer the PS3.  For the simple fact that the library of games will be HUGE!  PS3 will play PS1 and PS2 games.  I haven't read if XBox 360 will be backwards compaitble yet.

Nintendo Revolution has a nice gimmic as well.  You can go online and DL every nintendo game for NES and SNES to play on it.  It's not a huge thing for someone that's already played/emulated them, but rumors are it'll be free.  So, out of the box, there's a TON of games to play.

PS3 for me all the way it is far better than the X-box 360

its all about the xbox 360. the ps3 is too overated. too classic. oh no its a new playstation. for the 3rd time. xbox 360 you can do so much more with it than the ps.

Yes that is true and it will get Halo 3 which makes it hard for me to choose because I want the PS3 too.
Maybe if I beg I parents enough I might get lucky and get both.

How many games came out for Xbox in it's life?  How many for PS2?  What Xbox game didn't REQUIRE you to PAY for xbox live for quality multiplayer.

What gimmick is MS going to have with this system?  You had to pay $40 just to be able to watch DVD's on Xbox.  I think they are pushing Xbox Live to be mandatory for 99% of multiplayer now as well.  They did lower the price to $40 from $70.

FPS's don't belong on a console anyway IMO.  A person with a mouse and keyboard will always beat someone with a controller.

ps3 will kill the xbox in 360 degrees. yeah!!!

360 is not backward compatible.
How I know this:
They're releasing games for both Xbox AND 360.

Think about it a few minutes, if you buy a game for Xbox then get a 360, you think that you're going to rebuy the game if it's backward compatible? no. They want you to buy it again. It would be different if it were a remake, but they're the same games.

Either 360 isn't backward compatible or ALL games that come out for Xbox will have a severe decrease in price.

I love my ps2, and while I'm not exactly a sony fanboy, I am thinking of getting a ps3...however the one thing Xbox had over the ps2 was good multiplayer. Yes it cost money but Xbox Live works.

So if for the Xbox 360, it becomes cheaper as someone said, and theres a enough games that I look forward to (not just Halo, its overrated imho) then I would consider it.

But let's not forget the Revolution.

How can this thread be excluding the Nintedo Revolution? The PS3 and XBOX360 are just gonna be PS2 and XBOX with more power and new games, I think that the Nintedo Revolution is gonna be best, though its hard to really know what "revolutionary" aspects of it will make it be better. Ill admit that the GC wasnt the best console ever, and that up to that point, the PS2 was, but with the NR's backwards compatibility, wireless Wi-Fi, Xbox-like hard drive (not as big tho) that can be expanded as you desire, and the download ability for Nes Snes and N64 games, its like the mother of all gaming, the SNES was one of the greatest systems with some of the best games ever. I am talking about Chrono Trigger, SMRPG and many others, If i could have them on a console for free, instead of on my comp, it would definately be that much more of a nudge to buy the Revolution over the XBOX 360 or the PS3, though I will probably buy both an NR and  a PS3.
