XP has better graphics and more possibilities of what you could do.

If you want more resources to play with go with 2000, though its not as advanced as XP it sticks with the same styles.

Personally I'd say go with XP as that one is the one with all thr focus at the moment, its also a little more userfriendly. Most of us are using XP aswell so you should be able to get help from us if you need any.

The only bad thing about XP is that it doesn.t come with a world map tileset.

You can download a worldmap tileset and import it with resourcemanager.

I have quite a nice world map tileset if anyone needs it. To save people having to ask for it all the time i'll post a link here:
(I'll keep it in  alink because tilesets can be quite big images)
You have to enter the database and go into the Tileset section. You'll need to add it there to use it.
Before you can add a new map you need to make the array size bigger, or you can overwrite a different map if you want but I prefer making it a new seperate one.
Also if you import a tileset with a different background colour to white then you need to left click the background to select that colour to be transparent. Usually the top left square is a blank sqaure that you can click to select the colour.  :)

How do I array it?
If you open the database screen and go into the tileset tab, down the bottom left of that screen will have a button called 'Array Size'. If you click that and increase the number by one, or more if you want to add more maps. Then press ok to increase the size.
The left menu where there are all the maps in order of array number, if you scroll down to the bottom there will be a blank one. Click on that blank space then near the top middle of the screen click Tileset File and select the one you just imported.
After that type in a name, something like World Map is probably best. You may notice in the middle to the right is a view of the tileset and it will be covered in 'O' s, if you don't want a certain object on the tileset to be walked on click on that object to change it to an 'X'.
When you finish click on Apply down the bottom right to save any changes.  :)
Half the things on one square? :-/ Not sure why that would happen, see if re-importing the file and overwriting the tileset in database can fix it.
