If I even buy another console...PS3. Why is everyone saying it will be over $1,000? That was the PSX!! Not PS3. PSX was not released in the US. Just like the Gamecube Q, Panasonic's Gamecube that could play DVDs.
Revolution is going to be..bad. Reasons why the average gamer will not buy it and it will not succeed:
1) Nintendo made a horrible reputation for itself with the Gamecube. It's glory days ended right after OOT was release on N64. That was the last good game by Nintendo that wasn't a complete remake of another.
2) The shape is obscure, it will not fit in cabinets and stuff, so people with animals and parents will not be able to have one because it will get stepped on.
3) Nintendo doesn't have any good agreements with any companies signed exclusively. All they have is Sega, and we all saw what Sega's doing (Shadow the Hedgehog). Baaad Idea. Sony has Square, THQ, Rockstar, Polyphony, and Eidos. Xbox has Bungie...And Bungie produces stuff that is a LOT better than Sega. Not only that, Xbox has no true "Mascot" characters, so their games will not all be sequels and cheesey spin-offs such as "Mario: Laundry" or something.
Revolution will be for people that are not serious about gaming and just want to buy one so they are loyal to a conglomerate that only wants their money. How do I know they only want your money? See: Pokemon.

1. Just because you don't like the GC doesn't mean it made a horrible reputation. There are tons of quality games for it, no one seems to care though which is really strange.
2. I don't understand what you mean by it not fitting into cabinets. It's a flat system, flatter than the other two.
3. Xbox and Sony release garbage games just as much as you seem to think Nintendo does. As for exclusive contracts, what do you think Resident Evil 1 remake, zero and 4 was? Or Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes? Shall I go on?
I have no problem with you having your own opinion, but if your claims are going to be unfounded. If I was going to knock Nintendo I'd attack the rehashing of old games (which the revolution seems to have been built for) or the continual use of connectivity (how many people actually use they're GBAs with the GC these days?), or maybe even something more relevant.
Nintendo's hardly blown anyhting in my mind. You might hate Mario spinoff games but they aren't bad. And at E3 this year, once everyone realised that the 'next gen' console were all show and no substance, everyone was wetting themselves on the new Zelda.
I own all 3 of the current gen systems and I'm sick of racing and fighting games whose only allure are cars that might look good and scantly clad girls. You can only put those facades over crappy games for so long.
