Article from IGN.com

I can't believe Nintendo's gonna release a new handheld. Especially since the DS was just released not so long ago. They should've just put all the fundings for this project to the new Revolution IMHO.

the screen size was bit small
all  I can say is

They worked on DS and release another handheld
oh come on what the hell are they planning on DS
maybe companies woud'nt create games for DS
coz the new one are being released.
All the money they for DS was being junked.
Maybe DS games woudn't stand longer...hmm...
Maybe 20 games for DS and it's gonna be over

Good thing for me I didn't buy DS
so I'll save my money on the new one  :D
Aren't they just wasting money?

The gameboy micro is going to only be able to play old Nintendo games. It's something made for little kiddies who were born way after the release of the Gameboy, aren't mature enough to figure out how to emulate, and really want to play Mario (the gameboy one).

But.....GBA already has those 39 in 1 things with those oldies. Isn't that enough?

Apparently the Micro is 'stylish' and features a better (although smaller) screen. I doubt it will be a success.

They ain't decided yet. They only just announced it. It had better be cheap if they want to actually sell a few of them.

Sometimes Nintendo's strategies just boggle me. Since the, in my view, early demise of the N64, and the never-really-great GC, I don't have a high opinion of these guys. The idea of Dual Screen has not changed that at all, so I'm quite sceptic about this Revolution of theirs.

Gameboy Micro..now thats what kids all over the world where waiting for...

The gameboy micro isn't something that you guys should be concerned with.
If you have a GBA or GBA SP who cares?

It's just a smaller GBA. One of the useful things I think it promotes is that Nintendo will still put money into the GBA and its games like they said they would. I'm glad that they're still willing to make GBA games with the DS out there.

Nintendo 64 died right on time for me. The DC was released in 1999 and it failed MISERABLY (well comertially) and it was better than 64 (but in between 64 and PS2). 64 games were also released a late as 2001.

Nintendo has an odd strategy but what they do works.
People say Nintendo releases kid games and I say this a lot about it but that thought is not true. I've stated reaons like Resident Evil 4 before. Andway, Nintendo has a history of releasing quality games that are fun and entertaining. And all these people worriying about Nintnedo are going to get Zelda Twighlight Princess anyway.

I don't much care about the kiddy games argument people having been using since that baby mario game on the SNES..and I admit the Zelda game looks nice, and I enjoyed Ocarina of Time even though i played it on an emulator...but Nintendo speaks of innovation and revolution...and we get Mario Kart/ Golf/ Tennis/ Accountancy/ Sunshine etc..

But hey I'm off topic ;p

The reason the Dreamcast failed was becuase every one thought it would as compared to the PS2.  After this failure, Sega stopped making hardware because thay were still making games for the Genesis, Saturn, Game Gear, and Dreamcast.

I described their faliure comertially.
And yes they still make software for other consoles but not their own.

The only games that are being made for DC are homebrew games that 'make it big' like Feet of Fury.
the homebrew and devving community is still very active.

But this is all off topic.
I won't buy the gameboy micro, but I won't condemn Nintendo for creating another incarnation of a great system that they're going to continue to support.

The Micro is a smaller version of the SP.

It has a face lift which can be taken off to put on special colors. The GBM also has a auto-contrast and color stuff when you're playing inside. And it has a actual backlit screen, unlike the GBASP
