Ok i have seen many a topic asking how to get it to worl so i decided to write a walkthrough so here it goes
1. Download IPSWin
http://zerosoft.zophar.net/ipswin.htm
2. Download the rom from irc chinagba or g-masters
as these versions come witht he patch in the zip file
3. open up IPSWin
4. press the browse buttonw which looks like a little folder
this will open the brosw dialog box now find your pokemon emerald rom

5. do the same for the patch which will have a .ips extension
so now both feilds are filled in like this
6.now press Patch! and wait when it is done you will be presented with this
7.Now for the next stage open up your copy of VBA and enable Real Time Clock like so

and now the game will run fine ok that was it now no one has any reason to post a new topic about it

hey, i did all the thing u guys say here and i play it normaly but when i beat elite 4 and reset "The save file has been erased due to corruption or damaged" and then no save :/ 1st time i deleted all saves and started agai coz i thought that its becoz my sawe or smthg, coz my friend plys it without problems, but 2 time when i beat elit4, the same error so plz help
the reason why it does that is becuz Pokemon has a battery checking configuration. If the battery does not match with what it expects that it believes that the file is damaged. Try using the save states for those, yes i know its a pain to beat them again. Sometimes the save will stay while other times it will be deleted. The only known game to have that problem is pokemon, this is the fact for me. Since i played many roms already and none have done that. Maybe Nintendo or the Group that makes pokemon has a checksum configuration?

Well you don't have to save any savestates either
It worked for me for the first time I run it cause of the .ips patch called
"trm-pmeu" with the clock fix and the battery fix(not sure if it's a battery)
And also we don't have to dl any patches coz the patch I'm talking 'bout
comes up with the rom.

i told u i have patched my rom, i have no problems with clock or batery, the problem is that when i beat elite 4 and try to continue" the save file was erased due to corruption or damaged" or something like that shows up and i cant continue
ahh when you finish the E4 the black screen goes after the creds roll?
that means the game is not saved properly.when you restart
the save is damaged.if you did'nt read do save type 128k or if the
save is 64k then do it
or try exporting the game to a sav file after the hall of fame saves

I didnt use this patch, i use gba tool advance to fix the save problem..
However, after i beat the elite four and the game saves, i am unable to load it. I get a message saying that the save data is corrupted and has been erased. Will this patch fix it?

So, coming from a person who had the actual problem i'll explain it.
1. Patch it!! Patches are everywhere even included in the original one. Use IPS or something
2. Delete/move your old save file SA1, 2, 3 whatever because that WAS saved 64KB. THEN save it again using 128Kb by going to options, emulator, then save type and 128.
3. Finish the elite four, the credits and there's should no longer be corruption and you should be able to continue

i got the pokemon emerald (u) rom, iv patched it, iv also deleted save files and resaved in elite four after swapping to save file 128 and enabling real time clock
after doing ALL of this it still says save file damaged or corrupted and i cant continue on after the elite 4

It isnt working for me either. Im sure there is a lot to do in Pokemon Emerald after you get by the elite 4. when i beat them, and the champion and go through the hall of fame and the credits, and the game resets and all the rest of it I just get a message saying "The save file has been erased because of corruption or damage."
Ive tried the things suggested above including going to the link above and downloading the patch there and i used the IPS program to patch it, then i went back to the save state where the champion was beaten and let it resave in the hall of fame. But that didnt change a thing. after the credits and game resets, it still gives me the same message, which makes it impossible to continue with the game. Please help.
